Tony Campolo, Ph.D.

Anthony “Tony” Campolo is professor emeritus of sociology at Eastern University. For ten years he was on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. Founder and President of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE), Dr. Campolo has worked to create, nurture and support programs for “at-risk” children in cities across North America, and has helped establish schools and universities in several developing countries.

Dr. Campolo is a media commentator on religious, social and political matters, and presently hosts Across The Pond, a weekly program on the Premier Christian Radio Network in England.

He is the author of 34 books, with the latest releases in July 2007, The God of Intimacy and Action, and November 2006, Letters to a Young Evangelical (Basic Books). Tony will be the worship leader on Saturday, January 17th.

 

 

Rodger Nishioka

Rodger Nishioka serves as associate professor of Christian Education at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. He specializes in ministry with youth and young adults and is currently involved in a research project comparing the participation of young adults in mainline Protestant congregations and non-denominational independent Christian movements.

Prior to his joining the faculty at Columbia, Rodger served for twelve years as denominational staff in youth & young adult ministry for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

He has published several articles, chapters, and books all focused on ministry with youth and young adults. Rodger will be the worship leader on Sunday, January 18th.

 

 

Bishop Bavi Edna “Nedi” Rivera

The Rev. ‘Nedi’ Rivera serves as Bishop Suffragan in the Diocese of Olympia. She is the first Hispanic woman bishop and only the 12th woman bishop in the history of the Episcopal Church in the United States. Rivera is a leader in youth work and a member of the clergy of color in the Diocese of California. She has done advanced study at the Vancouver School of Theology in parish revitalization. Nedi will lead worship on Monday, January 19th.
